Associate Director, Arup

Austin has been closely involved in PRT development for the last decade, including the world’s first PRT system at London Heathrow airport, where he led the Arup infrastructure design team before being seconded to BAA in a design integration role until completion of the infrastructure design-and-build stage.
More recently this technical knowledge and practical and contextual insight was blended to effect in Arup’s winning competition entry under the EU CIVITAS Renaissance programme, which set out a holistic proposal on how PRT could be integrated in to the City of Bath. He is now leading Arup’s technical and economic advisory role on the City of San José’s PRT development project.
