Professor, History of Science and Technology
Arne Kaijser is professor of History of Technology at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm.
He holds a M.Sc.Eng (technical physics) from Lund University and a Ph.D. in technology and social change from the University of Linköping.
He has worked as a civil servant in the 1970s and 80s with futures studies, funding of energy research and development aid. Since 1991 he has been based at KTH.
His main research interest is comparative studies of the historical development of large technical systems.
His latest book in English is (editor with Erik van der Vleuten),Networking Europe. Transnational Infrastructures and the shaping of Europe, 1850-2000 (Sagamore Beach: Science History Publications, 2006).
