The main goal of the Podcar City Conference is to encourage considerable improvement of mass mobility in all possible ways – conserve earth and human resources, improve equity and have an open dialog of planning for the future.
Welcome to Podcar City 2021! This year’s conference is gathering a lot of interest – probably because of the rapid growing list of real projects being established all over the world.
We welcome you to the 13th Conference on Public Automated Transportation hosted by the International Institute of Sustainable Transportation.
The 2018 conference focuses on how we can plan for automated shared mobility. The pace of innovation has increased significantly with more systems providers.
Should what happens in Vegas stay in Vegas? The speakers, keynotes and panels are coming together nicely for the 2017 Podcar City Conference. It will take place in the very special city of Las Vegas
Only three days left! Since September 1 we now also have as keynote speaker Mr Philippe Muyters, Minister of Innovation and Technology. Mr Muyters will speak at 5.30 pm on Tuesday.

Thank you for participating in the 4th annual Podcar City Conference – what a success! For three days in the heart of the Silicon Valley we learned from global experts.
Is the auto the optimal way of personal transportation? Can we find other solutions based on good use of energy and limit the environmental impact?
Is the auto the most convenient and efficient way to move people around inside our cities? Does increasing car traffic diminish the quality of life in our neighborhoods and city centers?
It was a massive gathering in Uppsala and an intense exchange of ideas, experiences and contacts…
The current paradigm of mass mobility is not perfect. Regardless if we improve our technologies by incremental change, the basic solutions of today have a huge toll on humans and earth resources. There is no green car, no road based individual or shared mobility system that does not create congestion and urban planning difficult for human living.
The people behind Podcar City is based on a very simple idea. We ask ourselves – Can we do better?
If we have a clean slate and do mass mobility with current technologies – how would that be like ? Can we learn from existing ideas and concepts, that do not exclude groups of people, that is available and safe, efficient, comfortable and can scale up?
We share ideas and thoughts in projects such as SFFM – and then we meet in seminars, conferences and discuss our findings. It is everything from urban planning, vehicle design, safety issues, earth resources, and everything we think matters. We invite everyone to participate regardless of background. We welcome you to be immersed in our work or if you like, just stay on the sideline and observe. Some of you help us with spreading our work, some support us financially and some of you have a very important talent that could benefit a project.
We do this for the future generations as it is the young who own the future.
